Will KD ever win a championship

2016...that is when KD is a free agent. Hasn't he said he is tired of being second? Right now he isn't close to being second! It has to be on his mind right now being down 0-2 if he can win a championship with OKC. The MVP has to be thinking what else can he do? Nothing! Spurs are well on their way to winning a championship this season. The wild wild western conference has plenty of contenders in KD's way in the next couple of years. Spurs, Clippers, Warriors, Rockets and even Lakers will get better soon. Has OKC's window closed? Oklahoma sure isn't a destination for top free agents even when they have a chance to play with KD. Durant's best hope to win a championship might be to leave as a free agent and join a contender. Lebron didn't try to fight his legacy. Good players win MVP's. Great players win rings. KD is no exception to the rule. To win a championship he must leave as a free agent. He will have his choice of options that's for sure. Dwight Howard played the free agent roulette and isn't any closer to winning a championship...especially with a side kick who doesn't play defense in Hardin. Does it take a big three to win championship? Do you need a bonafide great coach? Michael Jordan days are over. Just because you are the best player in the league it doesn't guarantee you that you will win a championship. There is no formula but, for sure one person can't do it alone or two really good players. I praise OKC management for their savvy thinking. Always preparing for the future like no other because after all they have too. Being a small market team you have to pinch pennies and rub two nickels together. I dare say now is the time to put all of their chips in. They have to know that their window is closing and only have two more years of  Kevin Durant left. Can you imagine a trio of Westbrook, Durant, and Kevin Love! 3 players still in their primes and hungry to win a championship. OKC does have some ammo to make the trade possible. They have two first round picks in this draft that they can surrender in a trade. They also have a future star in Reggie Jackson who they can give up in a trade also. Would two first round picks in this draft, a future first round pick in next years draft, and Reggie Jackson get the trade done? I think it should. If I was KD I would let management know today to get this trade finalized. Something might also have to be done with Kendrick Perkins and his outrageous contract. They would be well over the salary cap with Love on board. If KD is going to win a championship in OKC, salary cap be damned! Yes, Minnesota does have Ricky Rubio so do they need Jackson? Jackson's biggest games have been when he was in the game along side Westbrook. Small ball is returning to NBA.
